What’s the opportunity?

The Operations Manager will oversee the operational activities of the business and improve the systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization’s mission.

The role is expected to support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process, and organizational resource planning.

What will I be doing?

  • Oversee the onboarding team’s performance, ensuring that the SLAs are met. You will work with the Onboarding Managers to identify and resolve any bottlenecks in onboarding merchants and generate / analyse the team’s KPIs (such as speed of onboarding, ageing and unresponsiveness of the merchants) for escalation to the Sales Managers
  • Set standards for the Technical Support team to follow, coordinate with line managers to enhance processes while eliminating ineffective ones and ensure that the Technical Support Team are compliant with the standards set
  • Work with the Treasury Team to ensure smooth, compliant and accurate treasury/finance operations
  • Monitor and resolve the issues in processing leading to negative changes in the Approval Rates / rise in the Decline Rates of Merchants. You will oversee communications with all the teams and the associated Gateways and Acquirers, generate / analyse processing trends and report the irregularities that can hinder a positive approval ratio /a favourable merchant / customer payment experience
  • Ensure a smooth, compliant, and service-oriented off-boarding of merchants. You will ensure due diligence in off-boarding is performed (Access termination, updating of merchant status in the CRM, Merchant account closure, final settlement release and release of liability)
  • Assist the Operations Director to further strengthen the operational capability of the company. This will involve identifying SOPs and internal policies
  • Participate in the hiring process, ensuring top-calibre talents are hired for their respective roles

What skills do I need?

  • BA/BS degree in programme management, business or public administration, technical management, information systems, engineering, finance/accounting, or related fields
  • Strong leadership skills with experience gained in a Payments, FinTech, E-Commerce, or Banking background is an advantage
  • Prior experience of being part of a high growth start-up environment and strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders across the board as well as clients
  • Prior experience in payment processes, payment gateway management, reconciliation and settlement and project management
  • Familiarity with associated payment processes from Onboarding to Reconciliation and Settlement in a payments processing setup supporting merchants of different risk levels. Technical orientation related to the use of payment gateways and merchant shop systems is an advantage
